Functional or otherwise, vases lend themselves to dramatic and impressive pieces, sure to become a focal point in any environment
				Lundberg Studios offers a rich and varied collection of luster forms reminiscent of the years of Tiffany and Steuben. Their surfaces are lush and velvety in appearance, and their forms are graceful yet functional. The Fern Series, shown here, is just one of the many Lundberg designs Symmetry carries. The Cased Crystal technique used by David Lotton creates a sense of depth and dimension in a variety of forms. Here, the floral forms in his paperweight vase reflect again and again creating the illusion of an abundant garden. The sea of life protrayed in vases and weights created by Orient and Flume Studios is astounding! The detail and realistic renderings of undersea scenes offers us a scuba diver's view...without the water. A collaborative studio, Orient and Flume offers us cased works, such as these, as well as a beautiful series of iridescent vases and paperweights. Stephen Schlanser of Schlanser Design Studio provides us with clean and elegant designs in sand-carved, kiln fired glass. While the form and scale of these pieces lend themselves to frequent use, they are all striking with or without embellishment. The Tortoise Series, made by Michael Cohn and Molly Stone has been a consistant favorite here at Symmetry. The appealing warm-toned coloring and lustrous interiors continues to please.
